Labor & Delivery Tour (Edmond)

Tours are available free of charge for current or prospective patients. Please register for the tour.
Tours are offered at 3:30 p.m. following the Saturday Understanding Birth class and during the week before other prenatal classes. You do not need to participate in a class to take the tour but you do need to register.
Tours are also given as part of the Understanding Childbirth Class. You do not need to register for a tour separately if you are taking this class at Integris Edmond and delivering at Integris Edmond.
Tours meet on the 4th floor Women's Center in the waiting room and start promptly.
Tours typically last 30-45 minutes and may occasionally be canceled if the unit is full.
Please register only one person in your party.
Adults only, please, no children under age 10. If younger siblings would like to be a part of a tour, please contact Angela Kersh directly to set up a private tour. 405-313-1832

Complimentary tours are available for current patients or those considering our facility for delivery.
Please register in advance for the tour.
Note: Only register one person. You may bring 1 support person.
Tours are available on Mondays at noon, with the exception of holidays.
Please meet in the Lakeside front entrance waiting area for tours to begin. Tours typically last 30 to 45 minutes and may occasionally be canceled if the facility is full.
Newborn and Postpartum Care

Class participants will learn common newborn characteristics, newborn proceedures during the hospital stay, benefits of rooming-in, newborn senses, the ABCs of safe sleep as well as get hands-on practice on swaddling, burping, diaper changing and bathing their infant. Physical changes mom will experience after giving birth, new parent emotions, lifestyle changes, and challenges will also be included in this fun and informative class. Class meets from 6-9pm on one week night. Note: please only register one parent/participant, the second is free. Ice and water will be available, feel free to bring any food or snacks with you to class.

Comfort Measures for Childbirth

Comfort Measures class is perfect for couples who have given birth before and want a refresher or couples who have already attended Understanding Birth class and want a deeper understanding with more practice of natural coping methods. This class is created around Penny Simkin's Comfort Measures DVD and book The Birth Partner. It will be interactive for both mom and support people. This class does not include information about medical intervention or the process of labor itself, that is covered in the Understand Birth class. This class focuses on natural coping methods.
Topics include: breathing, relaxation, visualization, guided imagery, massage, counter pressure, positions for labor and pushing.
Support people do need to attend with mom. 1-2 per mom is welcome. For couples who also attended the Understanding Birth class, this class is available at no additional charge. Please attend class to get the code or contact the instructor, Angela, directly. 405-313-1832
Outpatient Lactation Visit

Available to any mom and baby in our community throughout their breastfeeding relationship. Visits are with our board-certified lactations consultants, Connie and Paula. Whether you are trying to overcome a breastfeeding challenge or seeking encouragment in your new journey, appointments are available. Please call the Women's center to schedule at 405-657-3250. Most insurance companies cover multiple outpatient visits. An intial visit lasts approximately 60-90 minutes. Please come to the 4th floor Women's Center and let staff know when you arrive for your visit.
Prenatal Lactation Appointments

Schedule a visit with one of our lactation specialists. During the visit you will sit down, one-on-one with our nurses and discuss your goals for breastfeeding as well as helpful tips for successful breastfeeding. Our specialists will also help to identify any potential road bumps in your milk making journey. The visit must be scheduled through the Women's Center at 405-657-3250. Each visit lasts approximately 15-30 minutes and is covered by most insurance companies. The visits take place on the 4th floor Women's Center in the lactation office right outside the secured entrance to the unit.
Milk Bar Lactation Support Group (Edmond)
STARTING APRIL 6, 2022
A safe place for moms to come together and share their breastfeeding experiences and knowledge or seek advice. It’s a great place to make new friends, weigh your baby and get support from our lactation consultant and other new moms. This is a community event; moms do not need to have delivered at Integris Health Edmond to participate.
The Milk Bar is free, and registration is not required.
The Milk Bar at Integris Health Edmond will meet on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. come and go on the 4th floor in the Women's Center waiting room. Connie Barta, RN, IBCLC with other RN's with extensive breastfeeding knowledge and experience will be leading this event.
